JOB SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for assisting the Pressman on processes regarding make-ready, operations and maintenance of the printing press, in doing so efficiently, safely and accurately.
JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Loading skids of board to maintain continuous run of the press Troubleshoot feeders to ensure board is properly loaded Ability to read and follow job specifications to determine press set-up materials needed to run the job successfully Adjusts press machine parts, such as feeder and delivery mechanisms, suction grippers, guides, feed wheels, jogging devices, tapes, and cams, using hand tools. Assist in removing and replacing worn rollers and adjusting pressure between rollers of press, using hand tools. Wash blankets and cleans ink and ink distributing rollers and ink fountains, using ink solvent and cleaning mechanism on press. Assists the pressman in any maintenance of the press. Performs other duties as required to achieve the overall goals and objectives of the Company.
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:
Prior experience in a similar role required Manufacturing experience preferred Experience operating forklifts preferred To perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent attendance, be able to work independently and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be able and willing to work 12-hour shifts
SKILLS:
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. MECHANICAL CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Company issued Fork Truck Operator’s License
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required One year of professional working experience, preferred in a manufacturing environment
