Assistant Operator (Burris) Job Details Job Location Hornbeck Enterprise Center - Cincinnati, OH Description ***Are you legally blind and looking for a new job opportunity*** Summary of Position: The Assistant Operator (Tape) provides support to the primary Operator to convert jumbo tape products into individual rolls. This role assists with routine maintenance and operation of the tape conversion machine. Position Accountabilities: 1. Operates tape roll conversion machine to produce rolled products according to customer specifications and Industries Program standards for quality, production rate, and safety. 2. Loads core shafts with tape cores and installs shafts into machine. Removes loaded cores from shaft for inspection and packing. 3. Assists with machine tooling and changeovers for different production runs. Loads, unloads and feeds tape jumbo rolls. 4. Identifies equipment problems and malfunctions during production runs. Notifies Supervisor of any mistakes, defects, and equipment malfunctions in a timely manner consistent with severity of problem. 5. Assists with routine maintenance and performs daily cleaning of machine. 6. Trains to perform primary operator responsibilities in the absence of the Machine Operator. 7. Performs other tasks, duties, and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Qualifications:(including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, licenses, certifications, and other characteristics) - Previous slitting, fabricating, converting, or other large machine operation experience required. - Must be able to work in a standing position throughout the work shift. - Ability to move hands and arms in a repetitive motion while in a standing position. - Must be able to work cooperatively in a team, communicate effectively, and carry out simple instructions. - Must be able to navigate independently to and from workstation, bathrooms, canteen etc. - Enter building independently. Physical Demands: - Must be able to carry, lift, reach, twist at waist, stoop, kneel, and maneuver through the production areas. - Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs regularly with the assistance of another team member; must be able to independently lift 70 lbs. occasionally. - Must be able to use two hands. - Must be able to navigate the workspace without assistance. Work Environment: - Indoor, climate-controlled, industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to high levels of noise. Frequent exposure to dust, dirt, oils, cleaning fluids, blades, and other hazardous materials. - In accordance with CABVI’s Hearing Conservation Program and OSHA’s standards for the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), approved hearing protection must be worn at all times while in the tape and paper room with the exception of break and meal periods. - Regular work hours for this position are Monday through Friday. - Safety toe shoes are required.
