Recruitment/Posting Title Assistant or Associate Professor (Tenure-track) Department GSAPP - School Psychology Salary Open Posting Summary The Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) at Rutgers University– New Brunswick invites applications for a full-time assistant or associate professor tenure-track faculty position in the School Psychology Department. The selected individual will advise graduate students, supervise doctoral dissertations, engage in an active research program, contribute service to the department/university/profession, and teach graduate courses related to diversity, service delivery, assessment, and/or research methodology included within our required course sequence in our APA-accredited, NASP-approved School Psychology Program.
Rutgers University-New Brunswick is a research-intensive university. As such, desirable applicants will have strong methodological skills and a developing or established record of excellence in applied research consistent with an early or mid-career stage (e.g., emerging/developing lines of scholarship). The successful applicant would be a career scholar, as demonstrated through multiple, peer-reviewed articles published in relevant fields. The applicant would also demonstrate promise for securing external funding, as shown through evidence of submitted grant proposals. Specific areas of research are open, although preference will be given to candidates with a strong interest and expertise in culturally, racially, and/or linguistically- diverse initiatives and practices which enhance equity and inclusion in school and related contexts. Specific areas of expertise may also include culturally responsive assessment and intervention practices or culturally-informed research methodologies.

The Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) houses doctoral programs (i.e., School Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Organizational Psychology) and masters programs (e.g., Applied Psychology, Multi-tiered Systems of Support, Applied Behavior Analysis). GSAPP has a threefold mission of education, research/scholarship, and public service. We aim to prepare well-educated, qualified, and competent mental health professionals who have a special commitment to direct community involvement and to underserved populations—professionals who can integrate scientific knowledge with innovation in the delivery of psychological services to individuals, families, groups, and organizations. GSAPP emphasizes fostering and encouraging a diverse community of faculty and students and on supporting research and practice that are publicly/community engaged and benefit diverse and under-served communities.
The new hire will join a highly supportive and collaborative set of faculty in the Department of School Psychology. We are a community of scholars devoted to excellence and creating a learning and research environment that embraces diverse perspectives and fosters inclusion and equity.
