Westinghouse - Springfields Fuels Ltd, the UKs leading nuclear fuels manufacturing site is looking for an assistant plant manager to facilitate the successful delivery of essential business projects in line with Company strategy
Around 32% of the UK’s low carbon electricity comes from fuel manufactured at Springfields. Recognised as a world leader in safety, quality, environmental and technological standards. Expertise in advanced manufacturing, robotic and digital technologies.
Providing access to the National Nuclear Laboratory’s Nuclear Fuel Centre of Excellence (NFCE) and a COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards) site
About the role:
As an Assistant Plant Manager, you will provide support to the Plant Manager in the daily running and improvement of the AGR value stream.
Key Responsibilities:
Deputizing for the Plant Manager where required
Plan and execute daily plant operations following SIOP
Maintain compliance with regulatory and safety case requirements including the preparation and maintenance of safety case documents
Improve all aspects of plant and personnel safety
Define, measuring and improving Key Performance Indicators (SQCPD)
Process mapping and identification and delivery plant improvements
Provide advice on technical aspects of plant operations including technical and operational cases.
Monitor and improve Cost of Poor Quality, Yield and Right First-Time metrics
Liaison with external customer representatives and other team members (internal and external)
Coach plant personnel
Monitor and improve cost per unit
Qualifications:
Able to work to challenging timescales.
High standards and expectations in their approach to work.
Enthusiastic to work.
Positive team player who has effective oral and written communication skills.
A high level of attention to detail, with experience delivering against targets.
Technical ability to gain thoughtful understanding of the plant processes and safety case.
You will be expected to work in a controlled area and achieve baseline security clearance.
