Assistant Procurement Manager – Property

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Procurement Manager – Property, to come and join our Property team on a permanent basis. Reporting to and under the guidance of the Property Sourcing and Supplier Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of procurement and post contractual management within given categories are carried out in a thorough and professional manner, resulting in market leading purchase prices, giving quality products or services that support Mitchells and Butler’s.

We are looking for someone who has procurement experience, a strong communicator, self motivated and able to demonstrate commercial acumen.

You’ll be at the heart of the busy Property Department, gaining valuable insight and experience. This is an incredible development opportunity for someone who wants to become a future Procurement Manager.


Please note, this is an office based role, with occasional visits to suppliers.

What you’ll be do as our Assistant Procurement Manager – Property …

Regulatory

Ensure the companies liquor and associated licenses are not endangered at any time.Ensure Health and Safety considerations are paramount in all decisions and activities.

Legal

Effective management of new supplier set up documentation, H&S approval, insurance and contractual arrangements.Monitor and report upon contract performance and adherence.Ensure all approved Property suppliers have a relevant and upto date contract.Issue contracts for signature as may be required, updating with relevant terms / rates as notified by the wider team.Read and understand relevant terms of contracts and provide assistance to team with interpretation of relevant contract clauses..Own and administer the process for arranging contract signature in the correct company name, including checking the contracts are signed by the right level of authority.

Tendering and Procurement

Under the guidance of the Property Supplier and Sourcing Manager proactively lead the development of the procurement strategy within a services category to continually drive competitive advantage in cost and service for Mitchells & ButlersSource additional suppliers as may be requiredLead the procurement process from tender through to contract execution, including production of tender packs, tender analysis, negotiation and contract writing.Consistently identifying and developing best practice ways of working by taking a holistic view of the category.Monitor and report upon contract performance and adherence.Assist the wider Property team in projects and formulating strategiesBuild and maintain effective stakeholder relationships internally and externally and develop and manage supplier relationshipsEnhance category and procurement knowledge through the ongoing personal development programme. Manage the supplier change process effectively coordinating the change form one supplier to another ensuring a smooth transition.  Act as the liaison between procurement, supply chain and maintenance and development teams.Audit quotes and invoices received from suppliers to ensure compliance with contractRegularly visit current and potential suppliers across the uk.

Reporting

Interpret daily, weekly and periodic reportage from suppliers.Provide period contract reporting.Own the supplier set up process

Training

As required provide training to MAB internal and external supply chain around processes and procedures for contract.

Key relationships and development

Build and maintain relations with associated areas and especially with Building Managers and the supply chain.Provide relevant and timely feedback as appropriate.

 

What you’ll need to bring to this Assistant Procurement Manager – Property role…

Knowledge and experience of tendering and procurement processes.  Holding or working towards a procurement qualification.Knowledge of Contract law and experience reading and completing contractsHigh degree of maturity, attention to detail, excellent communication presentation and interpersonal skills, high degree of self-motivation, excellent organisational skills, ability to work on own initiative and proficient in excel and systems.

 

Qualifications and experience Required…

A Level or equivalentHolding or working towards a procurement qualification (CIPS or similar)
