Job Summary:
The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Radford University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Philosophy. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track, renewable up to three years, nine-month position to begin August 10, 2025.
We seek a specialist in ethics who can contribute to the department’s applied and practical orientation. Our current needs in the university’s second-largest minor, Ethics, include introductory ethics, health care ethics, and professional ethics. In addition to contributing to our combined major in Philosophy and Religious Studies, the successful candidate will contribute to an Honors College gateway philosophy course titled “Wicked Problems.” Ph.D. required by August 2025. Significant teaching experience is preferred. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Philosophy or a related discipline is required by August 2025.
Areas of specialization should include Ethics (or Moral Philosophy).
Background appropriate to teaching a range of departmental courses.
Preferred Qualifications:
Significant teaching experience is preferred.
