Job Summary The Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) Program at the University of Southern Mississippi invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning August 2025, pending funding. The MFT Program is located in The School of Child and Family Sciences (CFS) within the College of Education and Human Sciences. The school offers an AAFCS accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Family Sciences with two emphases: family science and child development, a Master of Science degree in Child and Family Sciences, and a COAMFTE accredited Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. CFS is also home to the Center for Child Development and the Center for Family Therapy. Primary Duties and Responsibilities + Teach graduate level courses in marriage and family therapy. + Provide clinical supervision to MFT graduate students. + Maintain an active and successful research agenda. + Contribute to the mission of the school, college, and university through service activities. + Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications + An earned doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy or closely related field. + Licensed or license eligible as an LMFT in Mississippi. + Evidence of strong research skills and aligned scholarship or demonstrated potential for developing a scholarly research program. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Ability to work effectively and collegially with students, staff, and faculty from diverse backgrounds, programs, and colleges. + Committed to campus engagement. Preferred Qualifications + Credentialed as an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. + Prior teaching experience. + Experience with COAMFTE accreditation.
