The Western Kentucky University Psychology Department (www.wku.edu/psychology/) is seeking qualified applicants for a tenure-eligible position in Clinical Psychology. This position will support the Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Applied Psychology program. The area of research focus is open, with a preference for the ability to teach courses within the program curriculum, particularly those related to psychological intervention, supervision, and assessment.
Responsibilities for the position include:
+ Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses (3 total courses per semester),
+ Conducting and publishing scholarly research,
+ Advising undergraduate and graduate students,
+ Guiding dissertation and thesis research as well as serving on dissertation and thesis committees,
+ Assisting with practicum and internship placements and supervision,
+ Serving on program, department, college and university committees, and
+ Other duties as assigned.
In addition to the Psy.D. program, the Department of Psychology has an undergraduate major in psychology, a Master's program in clinical psychology, and a NASP-approved Specialist in Education program in school psychology. Job Requirements:
Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology by the August 2025 starting date. Candidates must be licensed providers or license-eligible and are expected to obtain licensure from the Kentucky Board of Psychology at the Health Service Provider level. Applicants must demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching and to maintain an active program of scholarly research.
