Assistant Professor, Tenure Track, Center for Women’s Health and Reproductive Medicine

The Center for Women’s Health and Reproductive Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of basic and/or translational research in female-focused biology and women’s health, including but not limited to endometrial biology, endometriosis, gynecological cancers, reproductive processes, and pregnancy. We encourage candidates employing modern technologies, human research, animal models, and computational biology. Applicants must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D degree.
The successful candidate's faculty appointment will be in the Perelman School of Medicine (PSOM) department that best matches the candidate’s scientific interests and skill set.
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching and mentoring exceptional medical students, residents, fellows, and graduate students. Other opportunities may include formal lectures amongst the academic community.
Clinical responsibilities, if applicable, will be under the assignment of the academic department where the faculty appointment will be held. The responsibilities will be consistent with the clinical expertise of the candidate and needs of the department.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include establishing and overseeing a productive and professional research lab, supervision of postdoctoral fellows, students, and research staff, developing collaborative and independent research programs, publishing high impact papers in top tier journals, successfully obtaining external funding as well as achieving national/international recognition as a leader in the field.
The Center for Women’s Health and Reproductive Medicine is a rebranded University of Pennsylvania-wide Center under new leadership. The goal of the Center is to develop cross institutional strategies and research to improve women’s health and human reproduction.
