The tenure-track position in the Interior Design program requires the successful candidate to a) teach digital media and design studio and lecture courses, b) conduct scholarship on the use of current computer applications for interior design, including AI design process support, digital design and fabrication, and related technological and didactic concepts in interior design., and c) perform service at the program, departmental, school, and university levels and support the tech hub. The candidate will also serve as the interior design computer lab coordinator. The successful candidate should demonstrate software proficiency in AUTOCAD 2D, REVIT , Adobe Suite (Photoshop for presentation boards, Illustrator for drawing, InDesign for Desktop publishing), SketchUp, Grasshopper (advanced parametric), RhinoCAD. Additionally, the candidate should have detailed knowledge of drafting, modeling, rendering, development of construction documents, photo realistic presentation drawings, use of lighting modules and other 3D plugins and should be experienced in 3D printing 3D model maker, rapid prototyping, laser cutting. In addition to research and teaching digital design and fabrication, lecture, and studio courses, the candidate is expected to serve as academic advisor, contribute to Interior design curriculum development, participate in recruitment and accreditation activities. Required Qualifications 1. Master’s degree in interior design or master’s degree in architecture 2. Full-time professional work experience in the field of interior design or architecture 3. The candidate should have successfully completed NCIDQ exam or agree to successfully completing the exam within the first 3 years of appointment 4. Proficient in teaching digital media courses with software including but not limited to BIM ( AUTOCAD 3D, REVIT ), Adobe Suite, Grasshopper, RhinoCAD and SketchUp 5. Experience in 3D printing 3D model maker, rapid prototyping, laser cutting Preferred Qualifications Additional teaching experience is preferred along with a record of excellence in teaching in higher education.
