Position Summary:
The Master of Athletic Training (MAT) Program at Arkansas State University (A-State) invites applications for the position of Clinical Education Coordinator (CEC), a full-time, 9-month non-tenure-track position. The MAT Program is housed within the College of Nursing and Health Professions (CNHP), and interacts closely with several other CNHP disciplines such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, and others. We seek a leader with strong communication and diplomacy skills as well as a commitment to high-quality interprofessional education.
Duties & Responsibilities:
CEC responsibilities include: coordinating student clinical rotations, maintaining preceptor relationships, clinical site development, curriculum development, teaching MAT courses, student recruitment, service to the profession and/or the Program/College/University, maintaining CEUs, managing Program social media account(s), and other Program-specific duties.
A-State, in Jonesboro, AR, is a Carnegie Foundation R2 national doctoral-granting institution serving the upper Mississippi Delta region and beyond. CNHP has rapidly growing enrollment and is well-regarded for its large breadth of nursing and allied health professional education programs. Moreover, CNHP’s interprofessional programming extends to events with the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine, a separate institution but located on the A-State campus.
Located in the northeastern part of Arkansas, Jonesboro is approximately 2 hours from Little Rock and 1 hour from Memphis, TN. With a population over 81,000, Jonesboro is a regional hub for education, healthcare, and trade. A-State brings a college-town atmosphere to the city, and plays a vital role in local economic growth, partnerships, innovation, and cultural events.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of curriculum design, strategies to promote student learning, assessment and evaluation of learning, evidence-based education principles, advanced athletic training skills, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
Possess interpersonal and communication skills necessary to teach as part of a faculty team.
Evidence of quality teaching and the ability to effectively mentor graduate students.

The ideal candidate will also display the following preferred qualifications:
· At least five years as a full-time experience as a clinical athletic trainer;
· Experience in teaching in an athletic training education program;
· Strong understanding of CAATE accreditation.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must have the following required qualifications:
· Possess an earned clinical (DAT) or terminal doctorate (Ph.D., Ed.D.) from a regionally accredited institution in a discipline appropriate for teaching and clinical responsibilities in the MAT Program;
· Be licensed, or eligible for licensure, as an athletic trainer in Arkansas.
