The University of Marylands Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering CEE invites applicants for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in Structural Engineering We are seeking applicants with expertise in one or more of the following focus areas Conventional and advanced structural materials including reinforced concrete structures FRP composites as well as high performance adaptive self healing and hybrid materials Constitutive models for evolving concrete and reinforcement materials Sustainable materials structures and engineering practices applied to concrete Additive manufacturing for civil infrastructure using concrete reinforced concrete or composites Evaluation and repair of deteriorated infrastructureCandidates in other structure related areas are also encouraged to apply Demonstrated experimental research experience including large scale testing is desirableThe successful candidate will teach structures related courses as part of the appointment Candidate should be committed to high quality teaching for a diverse student body Ideal applicants will also have experience andor demonstrated interest in community engagement equity andor social justice in their research andor teaching The successful candidate is also expected to actively participate in service both within the university and externally
