The Division of Bariatric Surgery specializes in weight-loss surgery, medical weight loss, nutrition and lifestyle adjustment. The surgery team includes experienced bariatric nurse practitioners, certified bariatricians, clinical dieticians, nurses, psychologist, and support staff, all specially trained in caring for obese patients and coordinated to assist with multidisciplinary care. Procedures offered include Gastric Bypass, Gastric Sleeve, Duodenal Switch Procedures, Single Anastomosis Dueodeno-Illeal bypass, and Revisional Bariatric Surgery. Surgeons within the program also conduct ongoing research in the field of bariatrics, following patients long-term from pre- to post-surgery.
Function/Duties of PositionThe appointee shall provide patient care services at OHSU and partner hospitals as well as teaching to advanced practice providers, fellows, residents, students and staff. The person in this position provides an outstanding level of professional performance (e.g. quality of investigation for research faculty; quality of clinical care for clinical faculty) which is delivered in a manner compliant with guidelines of all relevant regulating bodies.
This position may provide services at any of our partner locations in the Portland Metro area.
Required QualificationsSuccessful completion of an approved general surgery residency; board certified in general surgery and accomplished in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery.
