**Job Summary:**
Key Responsibilities:
+ Serve as Infectious Diseases Attending providing independent care for patients on an inpatient and outpatient basis, and document as needed.
+ Share weekend and night call responsibilities for the Infectious Diseases service.
+ Shared holiday ID coverage and yearly national Vail ID meeting coverage (sponsored by the ID Section) and coverage for national ID conferences will be assigned on a rotational basis.
+ Coordinate multi-disciplinary care with other hospital and outpatient services
+ Supervise and educate various levels of learners and advanced practice providers
+ Teach in the fellowship and residency programs. This includes bedside and didactic teaching.
+ Develop and conduct research aligned with your interests and section such as evaluation and implementation of new diagnostic tests for pediatric infections,
+ Seek ongoing sponsored project support for continued research activities.

**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ MD or DO; must be board certified/eligible in Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Pediatrics. Must achieve board certification in Pediatric Infectious Diseases within two (2) years of completing fellowship. Continuous Maintenance of Certification is required.
+ _Active Colorado state license and DEA certification, or ability to apply._
+ _Completed certified fellowship training program in Pediatric Infectious Diseases by the time of hire._

+ _Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado_
+ _Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check_

**_Preferred Qualifications:_**
+ _Experience evaluating clinical impact of the use of plasma microbial cfDNA sequencing for diagnosis of the etiology of pneumonia_
+ _Experience assessing cost-effectiveness of novel microbiologic diagnostic testing._
+ _Experience tracking outbreaks of community acquired group A streptococcus or other infections_
**_Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:_**
+ _Advanced knowledge of antimicrobials and their use_
+ _Able to work well with all provider styles and types_
+ _Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with referring providers_
+ _High customer service skills, team-based patient care, and ability to meet productivity targets are expected_
+ _The applicant should be able to work well both independently and as part of a team._
+ _Ability to work collaboratively with Advance Practice Providers_
+ _Ability to be well-organized and efficient in their work and be able to prioritize patient and system needs appropriately._
+ _Strong analytic and writing skills_
+ _Meet all Children's Hospital Colorado credentialing requirements and continuous active medical staff status._
+ _Knowledge of diagnostic stewardship principals_

The University of Colorado School of Medicine (CUSOM), Department of Pediatrics, Section of Infectious Diseases and epidemiology seeks a full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty member (MD, DO, MD/PhD or equivalent) at Assistant Professor rank to expand the Department's cadre of physicians with expertise in infectious diseases providing care at the Children's Hospital Colorado based primarily at the Anschutz Medical Campus. The faculty member will participate in coverage of the ID inpatient and outpatient consult service, and in medical education for fellows, residents, and medical students. The role will allow for the faculty member to develop a funded research program with a particular focus on development, application, and stewardship of novel diagnostic tools for infectious diseases with an early focus on clinical diagnostics for pediatric pneumonia.
