Successful candidates will have a strong background in Project Management, Contract Management, Operations Management and its applications in areas of, but not limited to Fundamentals of Project Management, Project Contract Management, Project Planning, Evaluation and Control Techniques, Management Internship, Management and Organizational Behavior, Positive and Group Organizational Development, Conflict Management and Negotiation, Training, Development and Performance Management, Organizational Development and Change.

The Raj Soin College of Business is nationally accredited and offers a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Financial Services, General Business, Human Resource Management, Management, MIS, Marketing and Supply Chain Management; Master’s Degrees in Business Administration, Information Systems, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Marketing Analytics and Insights, and Social and Applied Economics.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate classes in the Department of Management and Intl Business. Candidate should bring a passion for contracting and project management, and an enthusiasm to teaching our undergraduate and MBA students, performing scholarly research and performing service within the university and the greater community. Candidate will be responsible for adding and managing our new defense concentration (e.g., defense: acquisition, contracting, finance, program management) in our MBA program.

Successful candidates should be committed to growing the programs, excellence in teaching, service to the student and university, professional growth, research, and scholarship. This position will be expected to actively participate in and support accreditation processes and participate in the development of new programs. The ideal candidate has a background in project management, such as managing projects within industry or experience teaching project management within higher education. Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Project Management, Contract Management, Operations Management or related field anticipated by the start date. Must meet the AACSB classification of Scholarly Academic. Preferred Qualifications Above listed required terminal degree is earned from an AACSB accredited school. Defense industry experience in acquisition, contracting, finance or program management. Undergraduate or master level degree in contracting or project management. Preference will be given to candidates with records of successful teaching, academic research, and scholarly publication in the field of Project Management, Contract Management, Operations Management . Essential Functions and percent of time: Teaching – 40% Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in support of the mission and goals of Raj Soin College of Business (RSCOB); deliver instruction and maintain a learning environment consistent with the highest standards of the profession; have a commitment to the development and execution of experiential learning Introduce new teaching techniques, evaluate student progress, and engage and motivate students through interactive techniques, experiential learning and other innovative teaching practices Maintain a minimum of (4) regular office hours (with a maximum of thirty (30) minutes per credit hour) per week, spread out over at least two (2) days; ensure these office hours occur at times that meet the reasonable needs of the students and advisees; must also have the ability to meet with students outside of these regularly scheduled office hours, either in-person or virtually; ensuring effective and timely communication with students Participate in the development and implementation of new programs (defense concentration for MBA), initiatives aimed at improving student outcomes and the overall quality of the business school, including new course development, curriculum development, and assurance of learning. Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, advising and mentoring them as they progress through their studies Develop and maintain strong relationships with Air Force Institute of Technology and Wright Patterson Air Force Base military and civilian population. An innovative and collaborative educator with the capacity to foster student success, both within the classroom and in mentoring relationships, with a demonstrated capacity to engage individuals across a spectrum of backgrounds, ages, levels of experience, and career aspirations. Applicants are expected to provide evidence of teaching excellence and demonstrated success with a diverse and multicultural student body Assist in the development and implementation of course learning outcomes, curriculum maps, resource guides, textbooks, syllabi templates, and updated course materials; includes region specific coursework as desired


Scholarship – 40% Conduct and publish original, discipline-based scholarship in refereed journals to enable ongoing classification as “Scholarly Academic” under the guidelines of AACSB International Maintain an active research agenda Share expertise with the academic and business communities through presentations, articles published in the trade press, white papers, etc.
Service – 20% Engage in shared governance at the departmental level Actively pursue the recruitment, retention, and success of students; attend and support a recruitment, retention or outreach event each semester Regularly attend departmental meetings Demonstrate active engagement and productive leadership in service activities that support and further the mission, goals and strategic plans of the department, college, or university Create and provide oversight of program/industry advisory boards Represent the program in regional campus meetings, special events, open houses, and orientations Leverage professional networks and create local events to increase program, college, & University brand Essential Functions and percent of time (cont'd): Non-Essential Functions and percent of time: Working Conditions On campus office environment.
