University of Rochester: Office of the Provost: University of Rochester Medical Center: School of Nursing **Salary Range or Pay Grade** $93,000 - $105,000 **Description** **GENERAL PURPOSE/SUMMARY** : The University of Rochester is seeking scholars with a developing program of research to become a member of our tenure track faculty. The School of Nursing is part of a state-of-the-art and research intensive Medical Center and University. Research investigators receive substantial research support and implementation assistance, especially in relocating an established program of research to the University of Rochester. Building on a proud history of pioneering leadership in nursing education, the School of Nursing pursues excellence in clinical and scientific learning, innovative research, and interdisciplinary health care practice. Advancing research and scientific discovery is a core mission of the University of Rochester School of Nursing. **RESPONSIBILITIES:** The successful candidate for this position will have peer-reviewed publications and an emerging program of independent research with potential for extramural funding. This is evidenced by conceptualizing, designing, planning, and implementing research projects in their area of expertise. The position requires the candidate to develop and lead grant proposals to secure extramural funding to support research and to engage in ongoing scholarship as evidenced by presentation and publication of research findings. The candidate will be expected to teach and mentor students and provide academic, community, and professional service. **Qualifications** **REQUIREMENTS** : Candidates must hold an earned doctorate in nursing or a related field, strong evidence of scholarship including data-based publication record in an area consistent with SON faculty strengths and strategic goals, potential for success in securing extramural funding, excellent interpersonal skills. Established individuals seeking the Assistant Professor position must demonstrate a clear independent program of research including a history of publication and active seeking of extramural funding. Familiarity with a wide variety of research methodologies, techniques, and statistical software including quantitative and qualitative methods is required. Strong collaborative skills to support an independent research program and participation as a contributing member of the School of Nursing faculty also are essential. Excellent writing, presentation, and critical thinking skills are required. **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:** Strong preference will be given to candidates who have had superior research training and mentoring including demonstrated experience with managing research studies, excellent data management/analysis skills, strong data-based publication record, and small grant funding.
