Division Director in Gynecologic Oncology
The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Vermont is seeking a Division Director and full-time faculty member. This position is supported by the Berta Pi-Sunyer Williams endowed Professorship and the new division director will assume this endowed position. Qualified candidates must hold an MD or equivalent medical degree; be board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology, be eligible for medical licensure in Vermont, and have credentials appropriate for an appointment at the rank of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor (clinical scholar or tenure pathway) at the University of Vermont. The ideal candidate will have an academic interest and productivity in either educational scholarship or clinical research and have excellent clinical skills in both office and surgical gynecologic oncology. The Gynecologic Oncology Division currently includes 3 attending physician providers, a physician’s assistant and a dedicated nursing and office support team within a growing clinical practice. We are an active member of NRG and our dedicated gynecologic oncology tumor board is attended by radiation oncology, pathology, genetic counselors, and research staff. As the only gynecologic oncology program in Vermont we serve the majority of Vermont and North Country New York.
The Division of Gynecologic Oncology is an important component of The University of Vermont Cancer Center. The Cancer Center supports basic, population and clinical research activities, the latter including active participation in NRG Oncology. The Cancer Center is growing and moving toward NCI designation. There will be significant opportunities for participation in the Cancer Center.
Academic rank, salary and benefits will be competitive and consistent with experience. The individual should currently be at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank and be board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology. The department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Vermont Medical Center has 6 divisions and over 40 clinical providers across all the major subspecialties of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The University of Vermont Medical Center is a 5 star Medicare provider and the academic hub for the University of Vermont Health Network, a 6 hospital medical partnership.
