No If Temporary, enter End Date: Position Summary SUNY Cortland is seeking applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the Biological Sciences at the Assistant Professor rank beginning in fall 2025.
The successful candidate will teach majors-level Genetics and non-majors Human Genetics as well as an upper-level Molecular Biology elective. Faculty are expected to maintain an active research program that involves undergraduates and has the potential for external funding. Faculty provide service to the department and university that includes advisement and mentorship of students with diverse backgrounds.

Maintain an active research program in an area of molecular genetics that involves undergraduates and has the potential for external funding. Provide service to the department and university that includes advisement and mentorship of students with diverse backgrounds Functional and Supervisory Relationships Assistant professors will mentor undergraduate students in research, supervise internships, participate in service activities for the department and campus community, and advise students in the Biological Sciences.
Faculty members report directly to the academic chair of the Biological Sciences Department in the School of Arts and Sciences.
