TheDepartment of Biology (https://biology.ufl.edu/) in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at theUniversity of Florida (http://www.ufl.edu/) invites applications for a full-time, nine-month tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor in Cell Biology. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a robust, externally funded research program and contribute to introductory and upper-division undergraduate and graduate education and mentoring in eukaryotic cell biology. The anticipated start date for this position is August 16, 2025.
We anticipate that candidates for this position would investigate fundamental questions about eukaryotic cells using cutting-edge approaches including but not limited to genetic, molecular, imaging (e.g., live imaging), biochemical, computational, and quantitative. Investigators who study molecular mechanisms of assembly, interaction, and function of cellular and subcellular (e.g., membranes, vesicles, organelles, and cytoskeletons) units are encouraged to apply. Experimental system is open and could include cell culture and/or in vivo models. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to interact with molecular geneticists, developmental biologists, synthetic biologists, and computational biologists in the department as well as faculty in the Colleges of Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, and Agricultural and Life Sciences and the Genetics Institute. UF research infrastructure includes a comprehensive genomics and biotechnology core service center at the UF ICBR (https://biotech.ufl.edu/) and the fastest GPU AI supercomputer in academia (HiPerGatorhttps://www.rc.ufl.edu/about/hipergator/).

Expected Salary:
The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and the compensation includes a full benefits package.

Minimum Requirements:
A PhD is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least two primary author peer-reviewed publications in the relevant field.
At least 2 or more years of post-doctoral research training.
Teaching experience would be beneficial/preferred.
