Contract Type MUS If other, please specify Recruitment Type Open Position Details General Statement Montana State University’s Department of Food Systems, Nutrition and Kinesiology and the College of Education, Health and Human Development are pleased to announce the availability of a full-time 9-month tenure track assistant professor faculty position in the Health and Physical Education (Health Enhancement) Program.
A dynamic educator is sought to teach and develop undergraduate in physical education methods, health methods, adapted physical education, curriculum/program development in health and physical education, assessment, and skill theme activity classes.
The faculty member will maintain a focused line of scholarly inquiry, publication and grant submission, as well as service (recruitment, retention, graduate accreditation) and outreach for the Health and Physical Education Teacher (Health Enhancement) Education program, department, university, and in school/community collaborations are expected. Duties and Responsibilities Instructional duties include: Teaching undergraduate courses in P.E. Methods, Health Methods, Curriculum Development, Skill Theme activity classes.
The faculty member will also be expected to: Develop an independent research program in their area of expertise. Demonstrate the ability to secure external funding from a combination of grants, contracts, or service testing. Mentor undergraduate students. Participate on departmental, college, and university committees as appropriate. Develop and/or participate in outreach and service programs. Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills PhD/EdD (or successful degree completion by August 2025) in Health or Physical Education Teacher Education or a closely related field. K-12 health or physical education teaching. University teaching in 2 or more areas of the following coursework: P.E. Methods, Health Methods, Measurement and Evaluation, Curriculum Development, Skill Theme activity classes. School/outreach collaborations 5. Potential for scholarly productivity in Health and Physical Education (Health Enhancement). Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Development of coursework. Integration of technology for in-class, field-based. Knowledge of CAEP accreditation and standards and procedures. Experiences in supporting sustainable healthy active communities. The Successful Candidate Will Possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrate the ability to develop an independent, funded research program in the Department. Demonstrate the ability to secure external funding from a combination of grants, contracts, or service testing. Demonstrate potential to collaborate both within the FSNK Department and external to the Department.
