Job Summary
The Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute seeks applicants for the Assistant Professor in Marketing, Consumer Behavior Track: Carey L. Wellington Developmental Chair. This is a tenure-track faculty position starting Fall 2025, at the Assistant Professor level, from scholars who work in areas at the cutting edge of marketing and analytics. Candidates on a consumer behavior track are preferred, but candidates on a quantitative analytics track will also be considered.
Candidates must have a PhD degree in a relevant business discipline from an accredited university along with demonstrated evidence of producing original and innovative scholarly work, preferably with publications in premier business journals. The successful candidate will join Lally as a tenure-track assistant professor and hold one of two Carey L. Wellington Developmental Chairs. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated potential and commitment to effective teaching in our graduate and undergraduate courses in basic and advanced topics in analytics for marketing, as well as provide service to the Lally School of Management and to Rensselaer. We are particularly seeking candidates to teach courses in and related to marketing analytics and/or digital marketing, and the normal teaching load is 2-2.
The areas of research include marketing analytics and consumer behavior. Preferred candidates will have a research agenda aligned with a quantitative marketing and/or consumer behavior track. Experience in and deep knowledge of the marketing industry and current technological industry trends would be a plus.
We are expanding Lally’s renowned marketing and analytics teaching and research portfolios. The Lally School of Management provides an intellectually stimulating and collaborative environment for inter-disciplinary scholarly contributions with support for research, teaching, and service. We are seeking an outstanding candidate who is driven and willing to engage with the vibrant, diverse and inclusive cross-disciplinary research community at Rensselaer.

Starting Salary/Rate
Expected hiring range: $160,000- $170,000
Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate’s salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate’s qualifications, experience, education and other job-related credentials. This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer’s good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
