Assistant Professor - Mathematics **FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT** The Mathematics Department at New York City College of Technology (City Tech), a comprehensive college of the City University of New York located in downtown Brooklyn and offering 60 associate and baccalaureate degree programs, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin Fall 2025. The Mathematics Department offers three degree programs: an associate degree program (AS) in Computer Science, a baccalaureate degree program (BS) in Applied Mathematics, and a baccalaureate degree program (BS) in Mathematics Education. The faculty member is expected to maintain an active research program and be committed to excellence in teaching. The Assistant Professor will be expected to contribute service to the Mathematics Department, the School of Arts and Science, and more generally to support the mission of the college. Service expectations include but are not limited to: support of the day-to-day operation of the department, admissions, recruitment and retention, student advisement, assessment, governance, development of partnerships, pursuit of external funding, curriculum development and accreditation requirements. **QUALIFICATIONS** **Minimum Qualifications** Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution. **Preferred Qualifications** + A commitment to quality education for a diverse student body + Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills **COMPENSATION** $75,465 - $93,134. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
