Assistant Professor- Mathematics Wayne State University is searching for an experiencedAssistant Professor- Mathematicsat its Detroit campus location. Essential functions (job duties): Teach undergraduate & graduate courses in Mathematics & Statistics including Probability & Statistics (STA2210). Elementary Linear Algebra (MAT2250); Special Topics in Mathematics: Machine Learning Theory (STA5890); Statistical Computing & Data Analysis (STA5030); Introduction to Data Science (STA5820); & Advanced Statistics Theory I (STA7810). Advise students. Conduct research in statistical machine learning. Publish results of research in peer-reviewed journals & present results at professional meetings. Conduct departmental service assignments. Qualifications: Position requires a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Mathematics or Statistics. Position also requires: 1) Ph.D. dissertation in statistical machine learning.
