Vacancy Announcement Position Information Campus Title Assistant Professor of Accounting Department School of Business Position Summary The School of Business at SUNY Geneseo is inviting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Accounting to begin August 2025. Duties of the position include:
Teaching three 3-credit accounting courses each semester at the graduate and undergraduate levelsonline and on campus. Courses may include Financial Accounting, Tax, Managerial Accounting, and other courses consistent with academic preparation, professional experiences, and needs of accounting programs. Pending final approval of the online MS Accounting program, serving as the primary contact for this program, providing academic, internship, and career advice and mentoring to students in this program, and devoting 50% of their time to the MSA program. Contributing to the field through published scholarship consistent with the AACSB qualification of Scholarly Academics. Collaborating with the other accounting faculty members to update existing courses and develop new courses to meet the changing needs of the accounting profession. Service to the School of Business, the College, and the accounting profession. Required Qualifications  Required Qualifications:
A terminal degree (PhD, DBA, or JD) in accounting, law, or related fields from an accredited institution by August 2025. Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching undergraduate or graduate level Accounting courses, preferably in an online format. Demonstrated proficiency using online learning platforms and other educational technologies for online teaching. Scholarly potential demonstrated by peer-reviewed journal article publications or high-quality conference papers on accounting topics. Strong work ethic and ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds. Preferred Qualifications A CPA licensure or passing all CPA exams. Professional experience in the accounting field. Experience in providing academic and career advice to students. Experience in developing and coordinating curricular and co-curricular programs. Experience teaching graduate accounting courses in an online format.
