**Salary** : $60,000 - $70,000 annually. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications.
This position is **Exempt** from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

**Summary**
The Department of Counseling and Human Services (https://apptrkr.com/get\_redirect.php?id=5933795&targetURL=https://www.uccs.edu/coe/departments/counseling-human-services) in the College of Education (https://apptrkr.com/get\_redirect.php?id=5933795&targetURL=https://www.uccs.edu/coe/) at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (https://apptrkr.com/get\_redirect.php?id=5933795&targetURL=http://www.uccs.edu) has earned significant expansion in recent years and is opening an additional invitation for applicants to apply for a new _Assistant Professor Tenure Track_ position serving in the CACREP-accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling programs within the department. The workload for this position includes teaching five courses per academic year (i.e., 2/3 teaching load), and all graduate program courses are delivered in-person. Teaching opportunities also may exist for leading undergraduate courses in Human Services, as well as summer availability in graduate specialties. Successful candidates will possess, and hold the ability to demonstrate, a variety of pedagogical approaches that enhance student learning, including the use of technology inside and outside of the classroom. This position also involves advising a caseload of current students, supervising practicum/internship students during field practice, engaging in scholarship and creative activity, and providing support throughout the department, college, and university through service.

**Essential Functions**
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
+ Competence in teaching graduate and/or undergraduate counseling courses, as well as commitment to engaging in research and service activities as defined by the position (i.e., 40% teaching; 40% scholarship & creative works; 20% service).
+ Ability to participate in meetings, teach courses, and attend program events **in-person** on campus or throughout the local Colorado Springs community on a regular basis.

**Qualifications**
_Education_
+ To qualify for this position, applicants must possess an earned doctorate from a CACREP-accredited counseling program. ABD candidates will be considered if the degree is conferred by August 15, 2025.
_Experience_
+ The ideal candidate holds a strong professional counselor identity, such as active memberships and/or experience in leadership roles among prominent affiliations in the field (e.g., ACA, ASCA, ACES, NBCC, etc.).
+ Candidates who have experience serving as CACREP Liaison or on CACREP review/site committees, or have contributed to self-study and annual accreditation reports, are highly encouraged to apply.
+ Candidates with an active research agenda and history of presentations and publications in the counseling field are preferred.
+ Candidates who have experience in teaching assessment and/or research in the field of counseling, are highly desirable in this position.
_Special Qualifications_
+ Candidates with an earned Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or professional school counselor license in the state of Colorado, or who are license-eligible, are highly desirable for supervision purposes.
