Position Description
TheDepartment of Finance and Economics (https://fin-eco.mccoy.txst.edu/) in theMcCoy College of Business (https://www.mccoy.txst.edu/) at Texas State University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2025.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach both graduate and undergraduate economics courses in the area of applied macroeconomics at our San Marcos and Round Rock campuses, publish high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals, and provide service to the department, the university, and the profession. Candidates must be able to demonstrate applying innovative and rigorous analytical approaches to interesting real-world macroeconomic problems, including international economies, development, and human capital.
The Department of Finance and Economics is a large, multidisciplinary department with over 40 faculty members engaging in innovative teaching and research including investments, corporate finance, derivatives, economics, and business law. The department offers Bachelor’s degrees in Finance and Economics and a Master’s degree in Quantitative Finance and Economics. The department also supports the college’s MBA program and newly created Online DBA .

Required Qualifications
+ Earned Ph.D. in Economics from an accredited university by the time of appointment.
+ Specialization in applied macroeconomics.
+ Strong potential for publishing in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals.
+ Strong potential for superior teaching effectiveness at the university level.
+ A record of service engagement appropriate for appointment at the rank of assistant professor at the university level.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Evidence of quality teaching at the university level.
+ Experience in teaching macroeconomics or managerial economics.
+ Expertise in time series econometrics and international economics.
+ A record of publishing in top-tier peer-reviewed journals.
