**All Job Postings will close at 12:01 a.m. CT on the specified Closing Date (if designated).** **Working Title:** Assistant Professor of Finance - Faculty **Institution:** Southwest Minnesota State University **Classification Title:** State University Faculty **Bargaining Unit / Union:** 209: Inter Faculty Organization **City:** Marshall **FLSA:** Job Exempt **Full Time / Part Time:** Full time **Employment Condition:** Unclassified - Unlimited Academic **Salary Range:** $64,066.00 - $186,015.00 **Job Description** This position would require teaching a variety of courses including but not limited to: Managerial Finance, Analyzing Financial Statements, Working Capital Management, Personal Financial Planning, Insurance and Risk Management, Business Statistics, Real Estate, Investments, Corporate Finance, Financial Modeling, Business Forecasting, Financial Institutions Management, Finance Technology (FinTech), and other courses as needed. Delivery methods include teaching in the classroom and online to undergraduate and graduate students. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, student club advising, involvement in department projects, assessment data collection, and activities representing the department at campus-wide recruiting events, and participation in campus committees. Duties also include contribution to student growth and development, participation in department and institutional activities, evaluation of student performance, engagement in scholarly activities, and participation in service to the University and community. SMSU, in its commitment to meeting the service needs of the region, expects faculty to engage in regional service, education or study as part of their community service responsibility. **Minimum Qualifications** + Ph.D., DBA or other doctoral degree in Finance from accredited schools (e.g., AACSB, ACBSP, or IACBE accredited). Considerations will be made for applicants in ABD status and expected to receive their Ph.D. or DBA from accredited schools within one academic year of appointment. + Teaching experiences in Finance courses. + Demonstrate teaching effectiveness to delivery courses via in-person, online, and hybrid formats. + Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and business/community groups. + Applicants should have ability to communicate written and verbally. + Ability to work and teach on-campus. + Must understand and appreciate liberal education. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to teach and work with people from diverse backgrounds. **Preferred Qualifications** + Teaching experience in Finance courses listed in the position description at the graduate level. + Applicants holding professional qualifications such as Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or Financial Risk Manager (FRM). + Professional work experience in the area of Finance outside of academia. + Demonstrating teaching excellence with positive student evaluations. + Evidence of current scholarly activity. + Applicants can demonstrate positive student impacts outside the classroom. **Other Requirements** Priority will be given to those who apply by 03/25/2025.
