We seek a scholar with a strong publication record in Film and Media Studies. Teaching responsibilities will include three classes per semester, which may include film appreciation, film theory, film history, film genres, and media practicum (Film Festivals), as well as core department courses or graduate courses aligned with the candidate’s areas of expertise. The ideal candidate for the position should have the ability to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels.
Key responsibilities include: Teach a 3/3 course load. Student mentorship, including advising graduate thesis and independent study projects. Curriculum development at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Participation in departmental and university service while upholding their engagement in the field. Presentation and publication of research associated with their area of study. Educational Requirements for the Position A Ph.D. in Film or Media Studies or a closely related field. (ABD candidates must have a degree in hand by the time of appointment). Published research in the field of Film and Media Studies Experience Required for the Position Preferred QualificationsPrior experience teaching in higher education, both in-person and online.
