Assistant Professor of Photo, Tenure-Track
The School of Art & Design at Alfred University's New York State College of Ceramics invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Photography to begin August 2025.  Candidates should be motivated to join a faculty team focusing on student success across the Division of Expanded Media & the School of Art & Design. The successful candidate will be able to shape the photography program within the division of Expanded Media & the School of Art & Design. Candidates are expected to have an active exhibition record at the national and international level and an engagement with the issues of contemporary photography and visual culture. We seek applicants whose practice is immersed in an expansive definition of photography. Applicants must possess a background in analog and digital photographic processes, photographic history and theory, and a strong interest in teaching in a multi-disciplinary program. Faculty will teach introductory through advanced levels of photography and as part of faculty rotation in the first year of the Foundations Program.  The School of Art and Design has a distinguished history as a premier institution for education in the arts and fosters a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary environment for research and practice. As the Division of Expanded Media encompasses Video/Sound Art, Printmaking, Design, and Photography, each with its histories, practices, and facilities, we are seeking a candidate that embraces hybridity in their teaching and studio practice, as well as demonstrates a commitment to collaborative practices across our varied disciplines (as well as across other disciplines within the school of School of Art and Design).
