We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Assistant Program Director.
The Institute for Excellence in Health Equity IEHE is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Program Director to serve as a key liaison between the institute and the NYU Langone Health NYULH system operational functions This role is crucial for advancing clinical health equity initiatives ensuring regulatory readiness and managing health equity focused programmatic and project based support across the NYULH enterprise The Assistant Program Director will partner with system executives and operational leaders oversee health equity programs and manage essential administrative and operational functions This role is essential in supporting the clinical health equity initiatives spearheaded by the system and will serve as a pivotal link between the institute and the broader health system The Assistant Program Director will be responsible for ensuring effective collaboration advancing health equity initiatives and providing leadership in operational and strategic areas related to health equity.
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership and Collaboration:
Act as the primary liaison between IEHE and NYU Langone Health system executives and operational leaders
Lead efforts to align IEHEs goals with the NYU Langone Health systems clinical health equity strategies
Represent IEHE as the lead for the System Health Equity Committee SHEC ensuring effective communication collaboration and deliverables
Operational Management:
Oversee the implementation of IEHE led health equity initiatives ensuring they align with both IEHEs and NYU Langone Health’s strategic objectives
Develop and manage project plans timelines and resources for health equity programs and initiatives
Monitor and report on progress outcomes and impact of health equity initiatives providing recommendations for continuous improvement
Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including healthcare providers administrative leaders and community partners
Facilitate regular meetings and workshops to engage stakeholders and gather input on health equity initiatives
Address and resolve any operational issues or challenges that arise in the implementation of health equity programs
Resource Management:
Oversee the allocation and management of resources including budgeting staffing and technology to support health equity initiatives
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements related to health equity programs
Reporting and Analysis:
Provide regular updates and reports to IEHE and NYU Langone Health leadership on the status and impact of health equity initiatives
Conduct data analysis and generate insights to inform decision making and strategic planning
Project Management:
Lead and manage projects as prioritized by IEHE executive leadership and the annual IEHE strategic plan
Coordinate and execute health equity initiatives across various mission areas within the NYULH enterprise
Develop project plans timelines and deliverables ensuring alignment with strategic goals
Program Management:
System Health Equity Committee SHEC : Act as primary IEHE representative to SHEC and its subcommittees nbsp;
Regulatory Readiness: Support the administrative aspects of maintaining Joint Commission Health Equity Certification including preparation and process management
Cross Functional Collaboration: Work with cross functional groups and shared services within NYULH to support IEHE led initiatives such as departmental DEI Vice Chair work
Administrative Functions:
Manage documentation and record keeping including agenda preparation minute taking and creation of electronic filing systems
Assist in developing slide decks reports and other content as requested by IEHE leadership
Budget Management:
Support the development tracking and monitoring of budgets for relevant projects and initiatives
Ensure effective allocation of resources and compliance with budgetary constraints
IEHE Clinical Operations Playbook Development:
Develop and maintain the structure for the IEHE Clinical Operations Playbook coordinating its creation and updates
Ensure the playbook serves as a comprehensive guide for internal processes and project execution
Intake and Consultative Process:
Oversee the development and maintenance of the IEHE system support for the intake and consultative process
Manage and coordinate consultative services ensuring timely and effective support for health equity initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Education: Masters degree in healthcare administration public health business administration or a related field RN/BSN preferred Experience: At least 7 years of experience in healthcare operations and people management Demonstrated expertise in project and program management within large healthcare systems is essential Skills: Strong project management skills experience in regulatory compliance and proficiency in administrative support functions Excellent communication organizational and problem solving abilities are required Leadership: Proven ability to work effectively with senior leaders manage complex initiatives and lead cross functional teams Other: Commitment to advancing health equity and a deep understanding of health system operations and regulatory requirements.
Preferred Licenses: Project Mgmt Prof, Registered Nurse License-NYS
Preferred Qualifications:
RN/BSN preferred

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $117,107.95 – $178,500.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
