Chicago based residential builder is looking for an assistant project manager to work on high-profile homes.
ResponsibilitiesAssist in the preparation of the project scheduleReview project plans and specifications, and comment on building design, scheduling, and cost-saving measuresAssist in creating the project budgetAssemble the job site office and equipment requirementsCommunicate effectively with the design team and clientsLead trades confidentlyExpedite reviews of all shop drawings and approvalsMonitor and maintain the project construction schedule and budget using integrated construction management softwareCreate meeting agendas and attend job site meetings to review the project statusPrepare and issue minutes of all site meetingsInform the Project Manager of any errors, discrepancies, or omissions in the Consultant’s design drawingsCreate and execute project change orders, and maintain current change order logsManage subcontractor agreementsMonitor site safety and ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety ActIssue monthly progress draws and invoicing to consultants and clients, including final holdbacks as requiredTrack daily logs on projectsManage communications and scheduling with high-rise building managementsMaintain and enforce construction standards and quality controlLead field labor teams to efficiently complete work on siteMaintain control and responsibility for the security and operation of directly owned equipment on the job siteControl and monitor labor, material, and equipment expensesEssential Skills1-2 years of experience in project management, construction, and construction managementUS accredited college/university degree or study concentration in a construction-related field preferredExperience in luxury residential constructionKnowledge of construction management, RFI, change orders, project coordination, and engineeringUnderstanding of construction terms, scheduling, and planning conceptsAbility to accurately read and comprehend plans, details, and specificationsProficiency in construction management software (Viewpoint)Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and ProjectExcellent organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skillsMust be local- this role is almost 100% on site
