Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Project Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will assist in overseeing construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and clients, providing support with scheduling, budgeting, and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning:
Assist the Project Manager in coordinating project activities, permitting applications, preconstruction meetings, site logistics plans, documentation tracking, and procurement of materials.
2. Scheduling & Communication:
Aid the Project Manager in coordinating scheduling, tracking meeting minutes and action items, and following up with the Field Team, Subcontractors, Owners, Architects, and Engineers.
Support the Project Manager with Submittals and Subcontracts.
3. Budget & Cash Management:
Assist the Project Manager in project buyout, budget forecasting, identifying scope gaps, and project takeoff.
4. Change Management:
Support the Project Manager with Subcontract Change Orders, Owner Change Orders, and documenting any RFIs necessary for the project's success.
5. Execution:
Assist the Project Manager in reviewing plans and project manuals, conducting and scheduling pre-installation meetings, and reviewing daily logs and field reports.
6. Quality & Safety:
Help monitor project progress and performance, assist the Project Manager and Field Team with Quality Control Inspections and Checklists, and ensure compliance with timelines and safety standards.
7. Closeout:
Aid the Project Manager in compiling all closeout documents.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
Construction Management experience preferred, but not required.
Strong willingness to learn and drive to become a Construction Project Manager.
Knowledge:
Solid understanding of construction processes, including scheduling, budgeting, and procurement.
Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore or similar).
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in the construction industry.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position with occasional travel required to project sites.
Some evening and weekend work may be necessary to meet project deadlines.
