Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our team for the IU Hospital Site Improvements project. This role involves assisting the Project Manager (PM) in the civil development of approximately 40 acres, including utilities, roadways, sidewalks, site concrete, site furnishings, and landscaping. The overall hospital project is valued at $4 billion, with this specific scope totaling $100 million.
ResponsibilitiesReview documents, coordinate with subcontractors, and compile Requests for Change (RFC) for PM review.Assist the PM with data entry and periodic updates for scheduling. Provide monthly schedule updates to a 3rd party advisor and create a 6-week look ahead every 2 weeks.Manage documentation and processes in Procore to support PM and Project Engineer (PE) procedures.Assist in field investigations and documentation to ensure project standards are met.Develop and maintain a detailed project plan that includes all tasks necessary to complete the project, such as roadways, parking lots, retention ponds, greenspaces, two quads, utilities, and landscaping.Support the management of subcontractors, ensuring they understand their responsibilities, meet deadlines, and maintain quality standards.Assist in overseeing on-site construction activities, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.Act as a secondary point of contact for project stakeholders, including property owners, architects, engineers, and city officials.Help identify and resolve issues or obstacles that arise during the construction process and assist in toolbox talks.Inspect work performed by subcontractors to ensure it meets project specifications and quality standards.Ensure all work is performed in accordance with local building codes and OSHA safety regulations.Provide regular updates on project status to project stakeholders, including progress made, issues encountered, and estimated completion dates.Assist in monitoring project costs to ensure the project stays within budget.Maintain accurate records of all construction activities, including changes in scope, costs, and timelines.Work closely with the Superintendent to understand the project’s overall vision and specific goals.Essential Skills2+ years in a project management role (APM, PE, PM) with a college degree, or 5 years without a college degree.1 year of experience with roadway construction.1 year of experience with utility installation.1 year of experience with greenspace/landscaping (e.g., retention pond, greenspace park in a work campus).Experience with construction scheduling.Experience with quality assurance, assisting in field investigations and documentation.OSHA 30 certification.Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore.Experience in healthcare construction.A college degree.Additional Skills & QualificationsOSHA 30 certification should be updated if not done so within the last 3 years.Experience with: Ground up, greenfield, brownfield, new development, infrastructure, site improvements, site furnishings.LEED Tracking documentation is a nice to have.

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $97000.00
