Our Opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager  to join Thales Above Water Systems (AWS) who provide integrated combat management systems and services for naval surface ships in the UK and internationally

You will be responsible for supporting the project management team to ensure successful delivery of the projects, ensuring customer satisfaction, on-time delivery and project efficiency. This is a great opportunity to gain experience and develop a career in Project Management, this includes management of project deliverables (CDRLs, hardware, documentation, etc.), change and risk management, reporting and liaison with the Customer and across Thales in the UK and internationally.

Some of the key responsibilities:

Ensuring the timely delivery of project deliverables as required by the contract.

Provide delivery performance metrics as part of the monthly reporting cycle including the status of CDRLs, GFA/PFA and other items as required.

Support the execution of configuration and data management activities.

Drive the Change Management process – working closely with the Customer and across the Multi-entity.

Drive the Risk Management process – working closely with the Customer and across the Multi-entity.

Act as the project management interface to the Customer to communicate day to day operation of the project. This includes attendance at key Customer meetings and working groups, identification of emergent issues and tracking actions.

Support the Customer facing project management activities.

This role will require SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held; if not currently held it is expected that the post holder will undergo SC Clearance, please visit the UKSV website for further guidance.

About You

You will have experience of supporting the delivery of successful projects in support of Project Management Teams and have a good understanding of the full business lifecycle management, including capture, qualification and winning strategies together with an understanding of generic processes and techniques used to schedule project activities (for example; WBS, OBS, milestones, dependencies, EVM). 

You will have experience of the Project Management process (including Change Control, Risk Management and Information Management) as well as knowledge of the project life cycle for complex projects through delivery of Development, Implementation, Closure and Support activity.

You will demonstrate strong negotiation, presentation and report writing skills with proven experience of building strong relationships with customers, partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders together with having excellent organisational, managerial and team working skills.

You will have a positive attitude combined with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills.
