D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an*_Assistant Project Manager_*for their Sales/Construction Department. The right candidate will promote communication and information flow between the field construction and sales staff in a designated area and the division. Responsible for assisting with all construction field and sales related activities, which include training, motivating the staff and handling buyer issues in the designated area.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
* Manage, train, and motivate sales agents and construction staff daily
* Help recruit future Sales Representatives and construction staff
* Oversee the field operation and production times and ensure quality control so that the homes are ready for homeowner orientations and occupancy
* Set build times on each plan and provide schedules to meet the build times
* Work with the Marketing Coordinator/Manager on advertising
* Work with agents on marketing, grand openings, and new phases
* Meet or beat set sales and closing goals
* Develop and maintain a trade base
* Interface with all municipal governing bodies, public utilities, and industry associations
* Manage backlog and loan status updates with Sales Agents
* Perform competitive analyses on products, features, and neighborhood amenities
* Attend meetings with subcontractors to discuss problems as they arise
* Assist with all field operations, plan ordering, and permitting as needed
* Visit job sites periodically to spot check quality and policy enforcement
* Review vendor surveys monthly and construction and customer service surveys weekly
* Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
*Supervisory Responsibilities*
Directly manages two or more employees in the Sales/Construction Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
*Education and/or Experience*
* Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
* Five to seven years of related experience and/or training
* Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
* Proficiency with MS Office and email
*Preferred Qualifications*
* Strong communication skills and attention to detail
* Bilingual preferred
