UCLA’s Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics is seeking to fill a full-time Assistant Project Scientist position. The Assistant Project Scientist candidate will perform independent research on the regulation of inflammatory gene transcription in macrophages. The Assistant Project Scientist position is a 12-month non-Senate position.
Specific responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Lead a research project focused on gene regulation during inflammatory responses in macrophages. Perform various specialized experimental procedures in support of research projects, including genomic and biochemical analyses. Perform bioinformatic analyses of genomics data. Conduct literature reviews to be used in determining most suitable research methods. Review available technology and assist in bringing appropriate new technology into the laboratory.Present research findings at scientific meetings. Prepare manuscripts for publication. Train others in specialized research protocols and complex processes. Mentor undergraduate researchers.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Ph.D. (or equivalent) in immunology or a related discipline.
• Four or more years of postdoctoral training.
