Assistant Property Accountant

The Assistant Property Accountants support Property Accountants in preparation of accurate and timely reporting of property financials for a portfolio of 16-18 properties. Responsibilities include posting all journal entries, producing financials for review, and completing bank reconciliations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Maintain a portfolio of 16-18 propertiesMeet all financial statement deadlines as required by property ownerCode and post journal entries to record monthly mortgage draftPost all journal entries as directed by the Property AccountantReconcile reports to G/L monthlyReconcile loan statement to G/L monthlyReview property G/L for reclasses, recommend reclasses when necessary, and post reclasses approved by Property AccountantPull and review invoices for fixed asset and major expenses in association with Property Accountant approvalBuild financials for Property Accountant approvalReconcile monthly property bank accounts by stated deadlineCalculate monthly management fees and submit invoice to A/PReview weekly property deposit batches and post weekly cash by stated deadlineReconcile all purchase card logs to monthly statements; verify that all receipts are submittedPrepare monthly/quarterly replacement reserve requestsAssist Property Accountant with needed back up for annual audit and tax preparationAdditional Functions and Responsibilities:Additional duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Must be proficient with MS Office, including ExcelStrong written and verbal communication skills requiredAbility to demonstrate the Bell Core ValuesMust demonstrate ability to provide exceptional customer serviceMust demonstrate ability to successfully work on a teamMust be resourceful and well organized

Education and Background:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, related field or equivalent work plus college2 years bookkeeping or Accounting experience preferred
