Overview Fairview Health Services is looking for a Radiology Tech Assistant to join our Radiology department at our M Health Fairview Lakes Medical Center location in Wyoming, MN. Fairview Lakes Medical Center provides award-winning care to the community’s northeast of the Twin Cities. We are a Level IV trauma center, providing life-saving treatment to the seriously ill and injured 24 hours a day. We offer complete care for your whole family. Specialty services are available on-site in heart care, cancer care, childbirth, orthopedics, pediatrics and more. The Technologist Assistant position provides services to patients and technologists through the assistance to create diagnostic images appropriate to the age of the patient. Responsible for meeting the established standards of patient care and productively with all of the members of the health care team. Position Details: FTE: Casual Shift: Varies Shift Length: 8-hours Weekend requirement: As Needed Location: Wyoming, MN Responsibilities Job Description Maintains patient care Identifies relevant data from images accurately. Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional. Participates in creating a culture of patient safety. Confirms patient identification, escorts/transports patients as needed/directed, and introduces co-works and hospital staff to patient. Answers questions/concerns, communicates needed instructions, and delays in patient scheduling and responds promptly to patient concerns. Ensures patient data integrity. Accurately completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, billing, status changes, and file jacket transfers in a timely fashion. Accurate film identification and jacket preparation. Organizes exams for radiologist interpretation. · Participates as an active team member. Orients and mentors’ new employees and students. Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives. Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position. Cleans and maintains rooms and supplies. Accepts unique customer service expectations in Imaging. Performs other duties as assigned. · Correctly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines. Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is in working order according to Department guidelines. Demonstrates proper technique in operating and maintaining all necessary equipment; Information Systems, phone systems, FAX machines, copy machines, digitizers, etc. Accepts new technology as it is introduced into the facility. Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level of population served. Qualifications Required: One year experience as a Nursing Assistant or Assistant Rad Tec six-months into a Radiologic Technology Program Current or Previous Nursing Assistant or Student of Radiologic Technology Preferred: Experience as an Assistant Rad Tech EEO Statement EEO/AA Employer/Vet/Disabled: All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to any lawfully protected status Benefit Overview Although this is considered a non-benefit eligible position, Fairview offers employees the option to participate in the Fairview 403(b) plan, earn Sick and Safe Time, and early access to earned wages.
