Requirements
The Assistant Registrar for Academic and Student Records reports to the Associate University Registrar for Academic and Student Records and is responsible for the interpretation and application of student records policies and the accuracy and integrity of production and maintenance of academic records for all students. This position is responsible for grade processing, degree conferrals, Consortium registration, the Senior Auditor program, and overall student information and program coding for the academic record. This position also oversees the certification of the academic eligibility of student athletes in compliance with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Big East and Patriot League Conferences, and Georgetown University by-laws, rules, regulations and policies. General duties of the Assistant Registrar include, but are not limited to, the following:
+ Supervise grade and degree conferral and transcript production staff.
+ Update the posting of grades and add thesis and dissertation titles, maintaining honors, awards, and degrees awarded data, as well as assisting the Associate Registrar in problem resolution of various academic records problems.
+ Oversee the Consortium registration and grade reporting process, working closely with counterparts within Georgetown, the DC consortium, and other universities.
+ Engage in tactful and helpful interaction with GU faculty and colleagues in deans’ offices and other university departments to provide information, training, and guidance to ensure quality records maintenance, responding to university policy and office procedure questions posed by those departments.
+ Analyze accurate information before adding data to the students’ permanent records and upholding the university policy of confidentiality of student records and other provisions of the Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA).
+ Process work promptly and efficiently, in accordance with the office and University time requirements.
Work Interactions
The incumbent interacts with internal and external stakeholders including students, parents, deans, and faculty. They collaborate with administrative offices including (but not limited to) Athletics, Honor Council, General Counsel, Student Conduct, Student Health to ensure the accuracy and integrity of student records.
Requirements and Qualifications
+ Master's degree
+ 3 to 5 years of administrative experience in a registrar’s office required, along with significant supervisory experience
+ Working knowledge of NCAA, Big East, and Patriot League rules and regulations
+ Ability to multitask and meticulous attention to detail is critical along with experience managing and engaging staff members
+ Knowledge of complex work processes with the ability to multi-task, plan, organize, and implement single or multiple job tasks
+ Ability to prioritize work assignments and deliverables and the ability to apply common sense and logic in making prudent and sound decisions
+ Ability to maintain confidentiality, tact and diplomacy in all matters
+ Integrity of the highest order and accountability or dominant components of the daily interactions that the individual in this position must possess
+ Attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to define problem both quantitatively and qualitatively, and then to generate potential solutions
+ Experience in the use of student information systems; Banner and Cognos experience preferred
+ Good communication skills (verbal and written), with the demonstrated ability to use report generation tools

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$47,586.00 - $87,558.13
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
