Assistant Registrar for Functional Analysis
Location: Saratoga Springs, NY Category: Professional Posted On: Fri Dec 6 2024 Job Description: SUNY Empire is currently seeking an Assistant Registrar for Functional Analysis at our Saratoga Springs location. The Assistant Registrar for functional analysis is responsible for registrar related reporting, facilitating and driving continuous improvements, as well as understanding and proposing solutions to the business problems faced by the Office of the Registrar. They will be able to creatively utilize existing technological resources to improve daily functions of the Office. The incumbent will work closely with the academic deans, Information Technology Services, as well as Decision Support. The Office of the Registrar is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the academic record. The Office strives to be a leader and thought partner in creating efficient processes that are designed in a way that supports student success and service excellence. Qualified candidates will be able to analyze data, have strong problem-solving ability, technical expertise, and have a commitment to data accuracy, integrity, and quality. Understanding and interpreting functional needs and being able to integrate them into the larger organizational context will be critical to success in the role. Responsibilities: + Provide predictive data analysis relating to course mode offerings, enrollment patterns, and course offering needs in order to support a long-term strategic enrollment management plan in collaboration with academic deans. + Coordinate and submit National Student Clearinghouse reporting and error resolution. + Conduct SUNY SIRIS error resolution and data management. + Manage all Office of the Registrar reports and assist others in the office with their reporting efforts. + Develop and manage reporting related to university strategic plan activities in the Office of the Registrar + Ensure the integrity, security, and accuracy of student records across systems. Perform routine audits to detect and correct discrepancies in student data, course catalogs, and degree audits. + Serve on university-wide committees and support university-wide initiatives related to student data and reporting representing the Office of the Registrar. + Collaborate with ITS and Decision Support on the development and coordination of data systems, the data warehouse, and reliable external data. + Work with Office of the Registrar staff to understand business needs and identify and implement opportunities for improvement. + Expand upon existing Degree Works reporting and data management to support strategic enrollment practices. + Assist in training members of the college community on new processes and technology, as well as develop supporting documentation. + As a member of the Office of the Registrar team, participate in planning and research of peer institutions for best practices. Work with leadership team to update processes in the office mirroring those best practices to meet the ever-changing needs of the university community. + Stay informed of federal, state, and institutional regulations related to academic records, student privacy (FERPA), and other regulatory requirements. Job Requirements: Required Qualifications: + Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited US university or comparable non-US university + A minimum of 4 years of experience in a higher education setting + Two years of experience with data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., ARGOS, Power BI, Tableau). + Prior experience working in a registrar's office. + SQL, or other programming experience + Experience communicating effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and technological experience. + Demonstrated success in proactive and engaged collaboration with other offices + Student information system or Banner experience + Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop solutions. + Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills + Experience with process assessment/improvement and quality Preferred Qualifications: + Master's degree from a regionally accredited US university or comparable non-US university + Experience with creating reports from Degree Works data + Experience working at a SUNY institution, specifically with SIRIS reporting + Experience in evaluating business processes and requirements to facilitate functional improvements Special Information: + This position is located in Saratoga Springs, NY. + Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. VISA sponsorship is not available for this position. Additional Information: Rank/Salary: Assistant College Registrar, SL3 / $55,500 - 60,000, dependent upon experience and qualifications.
