Yes County Albany Street Address Division of Genetics/ Newborn Screening 120 New Scotland Avenue City Albany State NY Zip Code 12208 Duties Description Under the supervision of a Research Scientist, the Assistant Research Scientist will serve an integral role within the Newborn Screening Program Follow-up Unit by performing the critical work of reporting abnormal test results, confirming that the clinicians involved in each case follow-up appropriately and in a timely manner, and that the newborns, who screened positive, receive a diagnosis, and receive treatment, if needed. Minimum Qualifications Non-Competitive: bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry or related science degree and one year of post-degree professional research experience in an appropriate field. Substitution: 30 graduate hours leading to an advanced degree in an appropriate field may be substituted for the required experience. Additional Comments Permanent, non-competitive, fulltime. Some travel may be required.Dependent upon the initial assignment or subsequent reassignment of this position satisfactory background checks will be required.
