Role accountabilities:
Construction oversight/ review: Manage the firm’s day-to-day construction oversight efforts on major municipal contracts. This will include providing technical review of construction plans and specifications and project changes for constructability and practicality.
Documentation/Processing: Act as liaison to design staff to respond to Contractors’ RFI's and review of shop drawings. You will assist the CM and/or RE in managing office staff responsible for record keeping, general correspondence, compiling and drafting of required reports and deliverables.
Safety: Assist CM and/or RE in managing overall site safety, permit condition compliance and coordination with other City Agencies.
Contractor Supervisor: Monitor Contractor performance, schedule, overall responsiveness and effectiveness. This will involve exerting influence over Contractors to maintain project goals regarding cost, schedule and quality. The expectation is the Assistant RE will also review, prepare, and processes the Contractor payment process and recommends appropriate adjustments as necessary to manage the Contractor.
Additional Duties will include
Assisting Construction Manager (CM) and/or Resident Engineer (RE) in managing the inspection staff and the delivery of daily inspector reports in accordance with clients’ requirements Assists RE in leading meetings and prepares meeting minutes Uses effective oral and written communication skills to effectively lead progress, project, safety, scheduling and other contract administration meetings with client, local agencies and the community. Responsible for supervising ARCADIS staff, including development of Professional Development plans, tracking career progress, mentoring, advocating for and approving timesheets and training/development requests.Qualifications & Experience:
Prior experience as an Office Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer in NYC. Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrated commitment to providing a safe and healthful workplace Proficiency with Primavera and/or MS Project and the MS Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Ability to manage ARCADIS personnel, and remain responsive to Corporate requirements.Preferred Qualifications:
5-10 years’ experience with at least 5 years of Assistant Resident Engineering or office engineering experience preferably for NYCDEP or NYCDDC. Professional Engineer - New York (active) preferred Interest and ability to network, support proposals and contribute to firm growth in the NYC construction market.Continue your career journey as an Arcadian.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15-20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $90,000- $120,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
