The Assistant Residential Director is responsible for providing supervision to treatment team staff including direct supervision of management staff and oversight of supervision for direct care staff. S/he evaluates, coordinates, and directs the treatment milieu and services provided to students. S/he ensures that regulatory standards are met and that policies and procedures are operationalized. S/he funcations as an integral member of the Administrative Team.

Responsibilities

Standards of Care:
Promotes the consistent achievement of Stetson School standards of care on the team.
Ensures a safe and therapetuic milieu is provided at all times.
Ensures that all staff model and demonstrate care giver qualities that treat all students with dignity and respect.
Promotes staff interventions that support the Stetson School's ACORN approach.
Ensures that team staff work within the Family Engagement model, and treat all family members and vistors with dignity and respect.
Ensures that telephone and mail contact with family or other identified supportive adults in accordance with the individual service plan and program rules and standards.
Prevents interactions that are not sanctioned within the rules, practices, and policies of Stetson School.
Prevents actions and disparaging comments that may be considered horseplay, roughhousing, and/or derogatory comments and demaning gestures.
Monitors staff to student interactions including professional boundaries, and responds to any concerns according to program procedures.
Acts as a role model and reinforcecs pro-social behaviors and students and staff.

Qualifications

Master's degree in human service managament, clinical, social work, counseling, or related fields; and four to ten years related experience and/or training in sex offender treatment and/or residential management; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of collaborative, team oriented management styles, interdisciplinary teams, treatment planning, employment laws, regulations, policies and ethical concerns relating to confidentiality, reporting risk management, youth participation and confrontation, juvenile court systems, social systems, legal parameters, therapeutic/legal interface, and various theories of sexual deviance.
