Your Opportunity as the Assistant Sanitation Manager
Maintain integrity of Hostess Brands LLC product quality and safety by ensuring that all bakery equipment, structural and storage facilities, depots, and transportation equipment are following Good Manufacturing Processes and Federal, State, and local food protection standards, and Hostess Brands corporate programs
Location: 2035 N Narragansett Ave, Chicago, IL 60639 (Hostess Manufacturing Plant)
Work Arrangements: 100% on-site, Day Shift: approximately 6am-4:30pm (flexibility to support off-shifts or weekends when required)
In this role you will:
Manages, evaluates, motivates, and directs sanitation initiatives for Plant Sanitation supervision and crew.
Ensure compliance with corporate standards and systems to monitor food safety, and facility cleanliness.
Ensure compliance and monitors standards for local sanitation manpower, and supply expenses.
Inspects, monitors, educates, local bakery departments regarding food safety and cleanliness in the handling, production, and transportation of ingredients and finished products.
Ensures supplier ingredients meet acceptable standards to produce consistent, safe, quality products.
Promotes safety through work procedures, orderly work environments, and employee safety programs.
Ensures compliance with contractual and labor relations issues

What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
4 years of experience in a food or clean room manufacturing environment
2 years of supervisory experience
Strong Computer Skills - Familiar with MS Excel and Word
Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices and safety protocols
Knowledge of HACCP (hazard analysis critical control points).
Experience in scheduling, training, and directing
Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:
Bachelor’s preferred but not required
Setting and Achieving Goals - Successfully coaches, trains, and follows up with people to ensure sanitation goals are met.
Understanding of allergens and mold issues.
Work Planning, Organization and Execution - works to budgets in controlling labor and equipment,
Strong planning, and organizational skills.
Rodent, bird, and insect pest control experience, including use of chemical and non-chemical controls.
Experience in the proper and safe use of pesticides and cleaners in food manufacturing
Understanding of the American Institute of Baking inspection procedure preferred
