4 Year Degree The University at Albany Department of Athletics is seeking an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. Primary responsibilities will include:•Working directly with the following teams: Men’s basketball, women’s volleyball and track & field.
•Designing and implementing periodized, evidence-based, sport specific programs for all teams.
•Assessing and evaluating each athlete's movement and programming individual needs to improve physical development, help reduce injuries and enhance athletic performance.
•Current knowledge of the latest trends and technology to track student-athlete progress.
•Adhering to all policies, procedures, and regulations of the university, conference affiliates and the NCAA.
•Performing administrative duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Performance.
•Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Candidates must possess the following qualities:
•Positive coaching style and willingness to work and to invest the needed time to develop the student-athlete, which will include working non-traditional hours (i.e., evenings, weekends, holidays.)
•Strong passion and positive energy to help motivate student-athletes.
•Outstanding communication skills with administrators, sport coaches, student-athletes, sports medicine staff, as well as other strength coaches.
•Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
Minimum requirements
Bachelor's Degree in exercise science or related field. Current CPR/AED/FA certification, current NSCA and/or CSCCa certification. Work experience as a strength coach in collegiate or professional athletics for 1 year required.
Preferred requirements
Master's Degree with experience designing and implementing strength programs for 2+ years at the collegiate level. Experience working with a collegiate or professional basketball team.
