Assistant Structural Engineer – Power (Denver)

**Description**
Burns & McDonnell's Power Division is seeking to hire an experienced Structural Engineer in the Denver Office! The Power Division focuses on the design and construction of power generation facilities, including traditional thermal, solar, nuclear, and energy storage. Projects also include other types of heavy industrial facilities, such as carbon capture, other decarbonization facilities and LNG storage. Our Structural Engineers are responsible for performing tasks requiring the application of standard structural engineering techniques and procedures. This includes standard design of civil/structural project work, assisting lead engineers with various project duties, and other duties as assigned.
Design, procurement, and construction of structural related components of power-generating facilities. Design work will include both the construction of the new generation facilities and improvements and/or expansion of existing facilities. Some specific tasks of a structural engineer include but are not limited to:
+ Building, utility rack, and equipment support structure design for electric generating facilities.
+ Foundation analysis & design for equipment, buildings, and other structures.
+ Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
+ All other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor Degree in Structural Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program required or
+ Bachelor Degree in Structural or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam required.
+ 1-4 years related structural design experience preferred.
+ Basic knowledge in standard structural engineering techniques, principles and procedures.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
+ Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
+ Basic computer skills include structural analysis programs (e.g., RISA), AutoCAD and BIM (e.g., Revit and Tekla).
+ Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem solving skills.
+ Demonstrated leadership skills.
+ Engineers in Training-EIT Certification preferred.
**Compensation**
$70,000.00-110,000.00 Annually
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
