Assistant Structural Engineer - Power (Kansas City)
**Description** Our Structural Engineers are responsible for performing tasks requiring the application of standard structural engineering techniques and procedures. This includes standard design of civil/structural project work, assisting lead engineers with various project duties, and other duties as assigned. Design, procurement, and construction of structural related components of power-generating facilities. Design work will include both the construction of the new generation facilities and improvements and/or expansion of existing facilities. Some specific tasks of a structural engineer include but are not limited to: + Building, utility rack, and equipment support structure design for electric generating facilities. + Foundation analysis & design for equipment, buildings, and other structures. + Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers. + All other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** + Bachelor Degree in Structural Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program required or + Bachelor Degree in Structural or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam required. + Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred. + Basic knowledge in standard structural engineering techniques, principles and procedures. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills. + Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite). + Basic computer skills include structural analysis programs (e.g., RISA), AutoCAD and BIM (e.g., Revit and Tekla). + Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem solving skills. + Demonstrated leadership skills. + Engineers in Training-EIT Certification preferred.
