Job Description
We are seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join our team for an overnight shift at the Cannon Project on Capitol Hill, a historic renovation project. The successful candidate will work four 10-hour shifts and will be responsible for assisting with various construction management tasks.
ResponsibilitiesUnderstand all work activities happening on the project.Plan work activities and recognize safety concerns while promoting a quality and safety culture among the team, partners, and trade contractors.Assist with subcontractor scheduling and coordination, quality control, project and look-ahead schedule review, and administration of the Request for Information process.Supervise and lead safety measures in all areas for all trades and perform audit checklists.Provide direct supervision of hourly field forces for work such as carpentry, concrete, general labor, etc.Maintain knowledge of miscellaneous materials required for safety efforts and self-performed work and coordinate procurement through field office staff.Accurately produce and distribute Daily Reports.Maintain awareness of shop drawing information and oversee correct installations based on contract documents and shop drawings/submittals.Assist in the implementation and ongoing execution of the Quality Assurance Program.Participate in jobsite subcontractor and Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings to stay abreast of the schedule and potential changes to the work.Possibly be assigned a small project as the sole Superintendent or to close out a larger project during the final stage.Possibly be assigned as the sole Superintendent during off-hour shift work on a project.Schedule work activities by producing look-ahead schedules and work with the project team to update or create the project master schedule.Essential SkillsQuality controlOSHA complianceFederal construction experienceAt least 5 years of experience as a Superintendent working on construction projects valued at $5M or largerConstruction Management experience with large-scale commercial projects valued at $10M or moreExperience in hazard identification and safety complianceAbility to obtain an AOC badge, which includes an extensive background check and fingerprintingAdditional Skills & QualificationsStrong desire for continual improvement in Construction Management, relationship building, dispute resolution, and communication skillsWork Environment
The majority of the work is completed outside at the construction site and in an office trailer where you will monitor the project and make daily decisions about construction activities. The position is often exposed to loud noises, such as construction equipment. The job requires wearing protective equipment when on the construction site, including hardhats, safety glasses, and highly visible clothing. This is an overnight position with hours from 10 pm to 6 am, working four 10-hour shifts.

The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $52.88
