The project is at Cannon House in Washington, DC. The Assistant Superintendent should have a basic understanding of all work activities happening on the project. They must also have the ability to plan work activities along with the ability to recognize safety concerns while promoting a quality and safety culture amongst our team, partners, and trade contractors. This role will also help assist with subcontractor scheduling and coordination, quality control, project and look-ahead schedule review, and administration of the Request for Information process.
ResponsibilitiesSupervise and lead safety measures in all areas for all trades and perform audit checklists.Maintain the knowledge of miscellaneous materials required to sustain safety efforts and materials for self-powered work, and coordinate the procurement of these items through the field office staff.Accurately produce and distribute Daily Reports.Maintain awareness for shop drawing information and oversee correct installations based upon the contract documents and shop drawings/submittals.Assist in the implementation and ongoing execution of the Quality Assurance Program.Participate in jobsite subcontractor and Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings to stay updated on schedule and potential changes to the work.May be assigned a small project as the sole Superintendent or assigned to close out a larger project during the final stage.May be assigned as sole Superintendent during off-hour shift work on a project.Schedule work activities by producing look-ahead schedules and work with the project team to update or create the project master schedule.Essential Skills3+ years of superintendent related experience within commercial construction (GC) projects $10M or largerExperience with construction projects in a clinical/main hospital setting is preferredOSHA complianceUSACE complianceAbility to obtain an AOC badgeAdditional Skills & QualificationsFederal experience preferredWork Environment
The majority of work is completed outside at the construction site and in an office trailer where you will monitor the project and make daily decisions about construction activities. The position is often exposed to sounds and loud noises, such as construction equipment. The job requires wearing protective equipment when on the construction site (hardhats, safety glasses, and highly visible clothing).
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/hr.
