Position Summary: The Assistant Superintendent plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, timely delivery, quality, and budget adherence of assigned project areas. This position includes supervisory responsibilities for Field Engineers, Interns, and trade labor within the designated project scope.

Key Responsibilities: Manage the billing process, including overseeing work-in-place estimates, payrolls, material invoices, and subcontractor payment applications. Communicate effectively with owners and architects/engineers regarding field issues; investigate and resolve any arising challenges. Create and maintain project schedules, determine work sequencing, and implement recovery strategies to ensure adherence to timelines. Oversee the site safety program, ensuring compliance with company standards and all applicable safety regulations. Facilitate coordination among assigned trades to ensure seamless project operations; resolve local issues related to procedures, design clarifications, labor, equipment, and scheduling. Make informed decisions concerning work performance, scheduling, logistics, quality control, and trade partner staffing levels. Ensure that all work is executed in accordance with approved contract documents. Analyze cost reports to identify opportunities for cost reduction and productivity enhancement. Supervise and mentor Field Engineers and Interns, including providing performance feedback and conducting appraisals. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor work progress and quality, reporting any safety or quality concerns to project supervision. Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 5 years in commercial construction management, with medium to large project experience preferred ($80M+). Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering is preferred. Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical abilities. Excellent prioritization, organizational, and detail-oriented skills. Proficient in project management software, including Primavera, Excel, Word, and MS Project. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work. Comprehensive knowledge of various construction disciplines.
